When: Thursday, Feb. 19 - Sunday, Feb. 22. Where: Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. Tickets: A daily pass is $30 for adults, $25 for seniors (55 and over) and $20 for juniors (17 and under). A week-long pass is $100. Other ticket packages are available. TV: Early-round coverage on Golf Channel; weekend rounds on CBS. More info: (800) 752-6736 or visit northerntrustopen.com. Last year: Phil Mickelson shot four sub-par rounds — including a 7-under 64 in the second round — to win by two over Jeff Quinney. What’s new: For the tournament itself, the purse has gone up $100,000 to $6.3 million, making it one of the PGA Tour’s most lucrative events. There are quite a few goodies on the tournament website. You can play computerized versions of the fourth, 10th and 17th holes at Riviera as part of the “Hogan’s Alley Challenge” sweepstakes for a chance to win prizes like a trip to the tournament, a pin flag signed by Mickelson and a Nintendo Wii. Notable: If you want to hobnob where Riviera members do, check out The Riv Club. For $200 a day, hang out with your guests in the clubhouse and enjoy a buffet and an open soft bar while watching the event on one of several TVs. Did you know: While the par-5 first at Riviera ranked as the 10th-easiest hole on Tour in 2008, the par-4 18th checked in as the fifth-toughest finishing hole all season, averaging a testy 4.32 with only 26 birdies.
