Keep an eye on these stars when the Hope tees off in the Coachella Valley.

For four of the five days at the 90-hole Bob Hope Classic, patrons are able to watch high-profile celebrities from the worlds of film, television, music and sports play the same holes as the pros.

What’s cool is that legendary New York Yankees catcher Yogi Berra has been named tournament ambassador for this year’s Hope. Berra used to be a fixture in the celebrity field and now will be on hand to meet and greet players.

The 2010 crop of stars is strong and includes a few prominent additions. Visit the Bob Hope Classic website for a complete list.

Here are 10 in particular to keep an eye on:

Anthony Anderson. The host of Golf Channel’s “Golf in America” and new star of “Law and Order” has taken to more dramatic roles recently, but he’s a funnyman at heart and always manages to pull off some shenanigans in this event.

Bo Jackson. The famous two-sport athlete ever used to overpower others with his power and speed. Now 46, Jackson enjoys hunting, cooking and golf — not exactly activities you’d expect to see in one of his “Bo Knows” advertisements.

Robby Krieger. The guitarist for The Doors, who was born in Los Angeles and attended UCLA, wrote classic rock staples “Light My Fire,” “Love Me Two Times” and “Love Her Madly.”

Greg Maddux. One of the greatest pitchers of all time used to partake in spirited golf games with fellow hurlers Tom Glavine and John Smoltz when he was a member of the Atlanta Braves.

Bruce McGill. The renowned actor, perhaps most famous for playing D-Day in “National Lampoon’s Animal House,” also played Walter Hagen in “The Legend of Bagger Vance.” Both characters loved to party.

Dr. Phil McGraw. How does a man famous for offering advice to offers fare in a game so bound to self-reliance? Watch and see how Dr. Phil conducts himself.

Jeremy Roenick. The former National Hockey League superstar loves golf so much that he bought Pembroke Country Club in Massachusetts last year after learning the facility had gone into foreclosure.

Kurt Russell. There’s arguably no one with bigger star power at the Hope than Russell, a veteran of box-office smashes like “Escape From New York,” “Backdraft” and “Tombstone.”

Emmitt Smith. The former Dallas Cowboys running back used to be the best at scoring touchdowns. Now, there may be no celebrity golfer who drives the ball farther than Smith. Check out this account.

Patrick Warburton. A candidate for funniest celebrity in the field, the former “Seinfeld” star now provides the voice of police officer Joe Swanson on “Family Guy.” Hearing Warburton do an impression of Joe would be worth the price of admission.
