The Tour has confirmed that the final round, composed of professionals only at the Palmer Private course at PGA West, will be played Monday. Heavy rains postponed the playing of the second round Thursday, and because numerous areas of standing water still needed to be dealt with at each of the tournament’s four courses Friday morning, tee times were pushed back from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. What’s more, only professionals are playing in the second round — celebrities and amateurs are scheduled to return to play for the third round Saturday and the fourth round Sunday. This marks the first time in the 50-plus years of the tournament that amateurs have been held out of early-round play. For Friday’s round, pros will play in twosomes at each of the four courses. This means there will be 16 twosomes at each venue, increasing the likelihood every player will finish (the last tee time at each course is 12:30 p.m.). Shane Bertsch will begin the second round as the leader after shooting a 10-under-par 62 Wednesday. The 39-year-old will play his second round at the Palmer course at PGA West, teeing off at 11:10 a.m,. with Jerod Turner, who won last year’s Nationwide Tour Soboba Classic at the nearby Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto.
