Moss wins Pasadena City Golf Championship

Three-time winner Hogarth withdraws on second day.

By Denise DeChainePublished: May, 2010

The 75th annual Pasadena City Golf Championship was held at Brookside Golf Club last weekend.

In the championship flight, Greg Moss of Sherman Oaks secured the win with an even-par 286. This is Moss’s first victory since winning the 2009 West Coast Conference golf championship as part of the men’s golf team at Loyola Marymount University.

Ramsey Sahyoun of Van Nuys followed Moss in second at 1-over-par 287. Sahyoun had a chance at the title on his final hole, but he missed a 35-foot birdie putt that would have clinched the win and then failed to convert the subsequent six-foot putt for par that would have forced a playoff.

Riverside’s Kevin Fitzgerald rounded out the top three with a 2-over-par 288.

Three-time defending champion and Tim Hogarth (Northridge) withdrew from the tournament on Friday due to personal issues.

The Brookside Men's Golf Club, in association with The City of Pasadena and American Golf put on the event and offer different flights for golfers to participate in. The championship flight is conducted over 72 holes and cut to the top 48 and ties after 36 holes. There are also multiple net flights that are divided to play over 36 holes that alternate play on Saturday and Sunday.
