Pat Perez is back on the PGA Tour. The former standout at Torrey Pines High School, who tore two ankle ligaments in early May while running with his dog, is in the field at this week’s Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn. He had been out of action since the Players Championship. Perez described what the rehabilitation process was like on his blog: “I rested, laid low, iced up, kept the ankle elevated and spent the past couple of weeks rehabbing and doing everything my doctors and trainers told me to do. The only thing left is actually testing the ankle.” Perez notched his first career victory earlier this year at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, his first win in 198 career PGA Tour starts. He stood 14th on the FedEx Cup points list at the time of his injury, and now is in 25th place. |
