The final day of the Presidents Cup at Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco is underway, with 12 single matches on tap that will determine whether the U.S. defends the Presidents Cup. The Americans and Internationals split the 5 points during yesterday’s afternoon four-ball matches, giving the U.S. a 12.5-9.5 lead with 12 points still up in the air. The U.S. needs a minimum of five points to clinch the Cup. The marquee match of the day is Y.E. Yang of the International team against American and Cypress native Tiger Woods. This will mark the first time the two have been paired together since they comprised the final group at August’s PGA Championship, where Yang became the first player ever to topple Woods when he held at least a share of the lead after 54 holes. Woods also is seeking to go 5-0-0 in the Presidents Cup, which would be the first time he’s compiled an unblemished record in either the Presidents or Ryder cups. Other prominent matches include Orange native Hunter Mahan against International star Camilo Villegas, Los Angeles native Anthony Kim against Robert Allenby and San Diego’s Phil Mickelson against Retief Goosen.
