San Diego resort Rancho Bernardo Inn is offering a new and slightly off-the-wall package for brave vacationers. Rancho Bernardo Inn’s “Survivor Package” allows travelers not only to customize the price of their getaway, but also the amenities — or lack thereof. The package starts at $219 per night and only gets lower from there, bottoming out at $19. The price lessens for every luxury removed. The lowest package offers guests a throwback living experience — sleeping in a tent and foregoing taken-for-granted amenities such as lighting, toilet paper and towels. The package also doesn’t include a mini-bar, a bed or air-conditioning. Rancho Bernardo Inn hopes the odd package might encourage patrons to return to stay for full price in a more traditional resort getaway setting. The package will be offered the last two weeks of this month, from August 16 through August 31. Visit ranchobernardoinn.com or call (858) 675-8500 for more information. |
