Murrieta’s Rickie Fowler will need a strong back nine in his second round at the Albertsons Boise Open if he wants to make the cut in his first professional event. The 20-year-old had three bogeys and one birdie in Thursday’s first round to post a 2-over-par 73 at Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Id. During Friday’s second round, he has been able to post red numbers, making two birdies and an eagle in his first nine holes to offset a pair of bogeys and complete to make the turn with a 2-under 34. The projected cut line is 2-under par, and Fowler is currently at even par for the tournament. Check back to Southland Golf later today to find out if Fowler hangs on the make the cut.
