Rickie Fowler’s first professional event did not result in a paycheck. The Murrieta native missed the cut in the Nationwide Tour’s Albertsons Boise Open, shooting 73-71 to fall short by four shots. Fowler’s fate was sealed on the back nine during Friday’s second round, when he made three straight bogeys to fall to 4-over par. For the week, he made eight bogeys, four birdies and an eagle. The 20-year-old will play next at the Soboba Classic at the Country Club at Soboba Springs from Oct. 1-4. Check back to Southland Golf then for live coverage of that event.
