The field is set for the Junior All-Star presented by CBIZ MHM at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard. The American Junior Golf Association event will be held July 14-16 and boasts 99 of the nation’s top junior golfers ages 12-15. California will be well-represented by 68 junior golfers. The Junior All-Star is one of 11 events in the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Series, specifically designed for boys and girls ages 12–15. Southern Californians Jennifer Dilger, a rising high school junior from Palmdale, and Lauren Diaz-Yi, a rising freshman from Thousand Oaks, will compete in the Girls Division. Dilger tied for seventh at the 2009 Junior All-Star at Lake Havasu and Diaz-Yi finished 22nd in the 2008 Junior All-Star at Marshallia Ranch. During the week, some of the top juniors who will be participating in the Junior All-Star will also take part in the Junior-Am Fund-raising Tournament Monday, July 13. The Junior-Am will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start. A practice round will be held Monday, July 13, with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Tournament play will run from Tuesday, July 14 until Thursday, July 16 with tee times beginning at 7 a.m. For more information, visit ajga.org. |
