San Clemente resident and former UCLA women’s golf team member Ryann O’Toole recorded her second Duramed Futures Tour win of 2010 over the weekend, capturing the Falls Auto Group Classic at Crooked Creek Golf Community in London, Ky. The 23-year-old defeated Angela Buzminski with a birdie on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff. Both O’Toole and Buzminski began the final round of the 54-hole event two strokes behind 36-hole leader Jodi Ewart but carded 7-under-par 65s to post a 14-under total and force extra play. A contestant on the current season of Golf Channel’s “Big Break Sandals Resorts,” O’Toole has won twice on the Futures Tour this season since the show was filmed during February in Great Exuma, Bahamas. In May, she won the Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City Championship, which was shortened to just 18 holes because of rain. O’Toole is one of eight contestants still remaining on the show. During the most recent episode, she eliminated former UCLA teammate Maiya Tanaka (San Diego) in a one-hole playoff. “Big Break” pits golfers against each other in a variety of skill challenges. During this season, one contestant will be eliminated each week, with the last player standing garnering exemptions and other prizes. Past champions have competed on some of the world’s top professional circuits, including the PGA, Champions, European, and Nationwide Tours.
