At the SCGA Mid-Amateur Championship at Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles, three-time winner Tim Hogarth is in position for a fourth title. Hogarth (Brookside Golf Club), who was paired with Joe Sanders (PGA West) and Jordan Nasser (Friendly Hills Country Club), finished strong with a 4-under-par 67 on day one of the 36-hole event. He is followed by Cass Traub (Virgina Country Club) and Jeff Coburn (Splinter Group) who are tied in second at 68.
