The Crossings also has a variety of special food and beverage events for the remainder of 2009. • Oaks North, a 27-hole executive facility just east of the Rancho Bernardo Inn, is hosting glowball events on three upcoming Saturdays — September 5, September 26 and October 10. The four-person scrambles are $70 and include all glowball supplies and access to a buffet catered by Oggi’s Italian restaurant. • Escondido’s Eagle Crest Golf Club will begin construction on new tee boxes for the fourth, eighth and 17th holes later this year. The new boxes should add about 25-30 yards on each hole and increase the layout’s total length to over 6,500 yards from the tips. • Woods Valley recently opened a daily outdoor grill, with menu items including hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches and breakfast burritos. • Rick Hamilton is the new director of golf, tournaments, events and marketing at Escondido’s Meadow Lake Golf Club. “I saw a lot of potential here, and it’s been fun to make it grow,” said Hamilton, who previously designed putters for F2 Golf. • Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club will have a booth at the Bridal Bizarre at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Sunday, October 4.
