The Southern California PGA will host a Scoring Skills workshop on Wednesday, September 16 at Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine.

Glenn Deck (Pelican Hill Golf Club), Eric Lohman (Oak Creek Golf Club) and Rick Sessinghaus (Chevy Chase Country Club) will be the featured teaching instructors at the event, which will have a six-to-one student-to-teacher ratio. In addition to having specific skill stations, the professionals also will have areas for one-on-one instruction.

Multiple stations will focus on skills such as chipping, pitching, bunker shots, putting, green reading, strategic play, recovery shots and physical and mental fitness. The emphasis will be on how to save strokes through strategy, preparation and mental fortitude.

The day of instruction costs $249 per person and runs from 8:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. The entry fee includes breakfast and lunch, instruction and range privileges. Plus, attendees will receive a free copy of Sessinghaus’ book, “Golf: The Ultimate Mind Game.”
