![]() San Diego's Phil Mickelson will be making his third appearance in the LG Skins Game. San Diego native Phil Mickelson will join two-time defending champion Stephen Ames, 2008 U.S. Open runner-up Rocco Mediate and five-time PGA Tour winner K.J. Choi at this year’s edition, which will be held Nov. 29-30 on the Celebrity Course at the Indian Wells Golf Resort. The foursome will compete for a $1 million purse. They will play nine holes each day, with ABC airing the action from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 – 3 p.m. Sunday (check local listings). Ames has combined to earn more than $1.2 million in winning each of the last two Skins Games. While Mediate and Choi have never played in the event, Mickelson will be making his third appearance (he played in 2002 and 2003, finishing second and third, respectively). The Clive Clark-designed Celebrity Course, which opened in Nov. 2006, will be the host venue for the second consecutive year. Beginning Monday, Sept. 15, tickets may be purchased online at indianwells.com, or in person at either the Indian Wells Golf Resort or Indian Wells City Hall (44-950 Eldorado Drive), 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. There will be no admission cost for children under 17 years of age. |
