John Fitzpatrick, director of golf for the new Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, has announced that Buddy Nichols has been hired as Terranea’s first-ever PGA head golf professional. Nichols will oversee all aspects of the golf programs for the Resort. “Buddy’s passion for the game and excellent reputation as an instructor are complemented by a strong foundation in golf operations. He brings to Terranea valuable experience in guest services, event coordination, merchandising and player development. We are thrilled to have him as part of the team,” says Fitzpatrick. With over 15 years in the golf industry, Nichols was most recently the head golf professional at Tustin Ranch Golf Club, one of Southern California’s most successful daily-fee golf facilities. A native of Southern California, Nichols spent the early years of his golf career in Michigan, and competed professionally for a few years.
