Stockton receives prestigious PGA award

Golf champion Dave Stockton received the 2012 PGA Distinguished Service Award just prior to the start of the PGA Championship on Kiawah Island.

Stockton, a two-time PGA champion and U.S. Ryder Cup Captain and player, was recognized for his leadership, integrity, sportsmanship and enthusiasm for the game.

He joins an elite group that includes Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Byron Nelson. Presidents George H.W. Bush and Gerald Ford have also been honored along with Bob Hope.
