Davis Love III has long been considered one of the game’s best players. Here, he shares his current thoughts. Glenn: When it comes to the average golfer’s swing, what’s lacking? Davis: Good golfers have good fundamentals. The average golfer needs better technique, rhythm and balance. Without these factors, the swing looks awkward. My advice is find a good teacher. Glenn: Your father was a great player and a great teacher. He taught you the swing. What did he stress most? Davis: He always stressed that you need a big swing and you need to swing at a pace you can control. Glenn: Is that the lesson for our readers? Davis: Yes. People swing too hard, too quick and too fast. They jump at the ball, trying to force the ball to go. Learn swing tempo and you’ll be better. Glenn Monday is an L.A.-based teaching pro.
