It’s a bird … it’s a plane … it’s a golfer? To celebrate the launch of adidas Golf’s lightest Tour golf shoe – adizero Tour, at merely 10.6 ounces – adidas Golf hosted a special media event never before seen in professional golf. On Tuesday, Jan 22, at the Torrey Pines Gliderport – kicking off the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego – defending champion Brandt Snedeker, 2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions winner Dustin Johnson and PGA Tour star Jason Day took to the sky as flying people. The trio piloted remote-controlled aircrafts from the ground that were replicated after them – down to their outfits and adizero footwear that they will wear when tournament play begins on Thursday. They “flew in” to the press conference to join adidas Golf Executive Vice President Ben Sharpe and Vice President Bill Price for a Q&A discussing adizero footwear. |
