Cheryl Ladd

One of Charlie's former Angels remains a heavenly figure on the links - a place she holds in great reverence

About 30 years ago, Cheryl Ladd debuted on "Charlie's Angels" and became a fixture in American pop culture. Now she's a fixture on the golf course. The South Dakota native used to be a golf ambassador for Buick and has appeared in many celebrity events. Ladd even wrote a book, "Token Chick," to profess her love for the game.

Talk about how you got started in the game.
My husband Brian, who is Scottish, first introduced me to the game. I talk all about it in the first chapter of my book, "Token Chick: A Woman's Guide to Golfing with the Boys."

What prompted you to write "Token Chick”?
The gift and joy golf has brought to my life. Also, I wanted other women not to be intimidated by the sport.

What is your current handicap? Are you working on anything in particular right now?
My current handicap is around 18. My swing is getting a little flat so I'm working on getting my club in proper position at the top of my backswing.

What's your most treasured golf possession?
I have won some trophies that I am very proud of, but my most treasured possession is my Scotty Cameron putter. It has been very kind to me.

Your most cherished golf memory?
Getting a hole-in-one - twice! The first time Jimmy Connors was present and more recently I got my second hole-in-one at a celebrity golf tournament at Riviera Country Club.

What's the strangest thing you've ever seen on the golf course?
I once played in a tournament on a military base in the Philippines. If your ball even remotely strayed off the fairway someone would steal it and later try to sell it back to you.

Including yourself, who would make up your ultimate foursome?
Bobby Jones, Babe Didrikson Zaharias and Katharine Hepburn.
