![]() Talk about the changes to the patio. It’s 4,000 square feet, and everything is top notch. We have umbrellas, five televisions, beautiful glass tables, heaters, lighting and a fire pit. It’s more of a big café-style patio, it’s more modern and very comfortable — the ambiance is totally different. It’s a great place to have events. Are there other improvements in store? Our restaurant is in the process of becoming full service, and we’re working on creating a new dinner menu, which will be more of a California cuisine with lots of fresh, healthy dishes. Our chef, Pepe, has been with the course for seven years and is very talented. The restaurant used to close at 2 p.m., but now we’re open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. What do you like about working at San Juan Hills? This is my first venture into the golf business, and I’m loving it. I used to own four restaurants in north San Diego County, and this is the first time I’ve ever worked for anybody. I’m a golf fanatic, so I’m grateful to be working at San Juan Hills. I love the atmosphere and the people that work here — and the management of the golf course is very into improving what they have going on. Any upcoming specials or events? You can find out about them by going to our website and signing up for the eClub. We send out weekly e-mails with specials. We also have at least one “Nine and Dine” event per month that has nine holes of golf and a food event with a theme; we just had one for Oktoberfest.
