Rickie Fowler (pictured) of Murrieta and Steve Bogan of Placentia won the SCGA Player of the Year and Senior Player of the Year honors for 2006. Fowler, 17, totaled 855 points in six events this season. Points are awarded for high finishes in SCGA and USGA qualifying events and championships. Jordan Nasser of Anaheim Hills finished second with 800 points, followed by David Bartman of Los Angeles with 760 and Scott McGihon of Bermuda Dunes with 690. Bogan, who became the first player to win the state and SCGA senior amateur titles in the same year, recorded 1,285 points. Kemp Richardson of Laguna Niguel was second with 505 points, followed by Steven Hakes of San Diego with 435. |
