The comedienne has done a lot for golf, including teeing it up against Tiger Woods — on the set of her talk show.

Claim to fame: DeGeneres starred in her own sitcom, hosted the Academy Awards and hosts one of the highest-rated daytime talk shows on TV. She recently made headlines by being selected a judge for “American Idol.”
Golf expertise: DeGeneres doesn’t play as often as other celebrities on this list. But the times she has swung a club on her show indicate that she knows the mechanical nuts and bolts.
What she means to the game: DeGeneres has exposed golf to millions of people — most of them women — who watch her show. From challenging Tiger Woods to a driving competition on the set and filming a show from the Justin Timberlake-hosted PGA Tour event in Las Vegas, she’s doing her part to grow the game.
