Kevin Nealon

The former 'Saturday Night Live' star adds flavor to the celebrity golf circuit.

BY JOEL BEERSPublished: November, 2009

In 2007, Kevin Nealon's handicap was listed at 23 (COURTESY: Eric Tracy).
Claim to fame: The “Saturday Night Live” stalwart and successful stand-up comic earned an Emmy nomination for writing and a Screen Actor’s Guild nomination for his ensemble work on the Showtime series “Weeds.”
Golf expertise: Nealon seems to show up at many celebrity golf tournaments. But quantity doesn’t necessarily translate into quality — in 2007, his handicap was listed at 23.
What he means to the game: Nealon is known for his dry wit, and he brings that persona to the game. He’s never met a question that he’ll give a straight answer to, and his irreverent streak does a lot to puncture the aura of the game as stuffy and tightly wound.
Quotable: “I watch once in a while, if there’s no wrestling or Home Shopping Network available.”
— Nealon in an interview with badgolfer.com, when asked if he watches golf on TV.
