Bode Miller

The two-time Olympic silver medalist has an aggressive mentality on the slopes and on the links.

One of the best American alpine skiers ever, Bode Miller is arguably just as famous for speaking his mind as he is for his 31 victories in World Cup races and pair of silver medals from the 2002 Winter Olympics. The New Hampshire native has been known to take risks in competition — and even when he’s golfing in his spare time, he’s not afraid to be bold.     

What’s your handicap?
I’m a 10.

What was the first thing that attracted you to the game?
During high school, a friend of mine invited me to go hit balls on the range. Since that time, I grew a liking to golf.

What do you enjoy most about the game?
I love the fact that I’m outdoors.  

What’s your favorite course in Southern California?
I would have to say The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe. The course is equally as impressive as the clubhouse.

What’s the one course you would like to play in Southern California?
I would really like to play Riviera. It has a lot of history and it usually comes up in conversation when I am talking to others about golf in California.  

What’s your favorite club in the bag?
I love my driver. I love to tee it up and bomb it.

Is there anything you fear on the course?
I have no fear when I play golf. In golf, if you miss a shot you can recover, whereas in skiing, if you miss a turn you will not be able to recover from your mistake.  

What’s the most money you ever won on the course?
At a charity event, one person placed a bid of $13,000 to play golf with me.

Including yourself, who would make up your ultimate foursome?
Anyone — as long as Tiger is in the group.
