Tom Lehman set a goal for himself to be named Player of the Year in all three professional golf tours in which he played during his career. He achieved that goal Dec. 14 when he was named as the Champions Tour Player of the Year for 2011. Lehman won three times in 2011 on the Champions Tour, and also won the Charles Schwab Cup. He also was first on the tour money list, the only player on the Champions Tour to win more than $2 million. Twenty years ago Lehman was named Player of the Year on what then was called the Hogan Tour. He was voted Player of the Year on the PGA Tour in 1996 after winning two tournaments—one of which included the British Open—and topping the tour money list. |
