![]() Bill Lunde The Poway native (left) made the right choice when he decided to give professional golf another shot. Lunde won his first PGA Tour event last month at the Turning Stone Resort Championship in Atunyote, N.Y., shooting 64-66 on the weekend to reach 17-under par and win by a stroke. The 34-year-old quit golf in 2005 and worked an office job before giving the game another shot in 2007. He pocketed $720,000 and ignited an otherwise forgettable season that included 10 made cuts in his first 22 starts and a pair of top-10 finishes. Nick Delio The Valencia resident and rising senior on the men’s golf team at Cal State-Northridge (right) has a knack for winning local match-play events, as he defended his title at the SCGA Match Play Championship last month at Sandpiper Golf Course in Santa Barbara. Delio, who turned 21 on August 28, made an opening eagle in the final against Jack Perry and never trailed, going on to win by a 3-and-2 margin. Delio also won last year’s SCGA Match Play at Sandpiper and the 2008 California State Amateur at Lakeside Golf Club.
