![]() Three are known more for their work outside of golf: Dinah Shore, Andy Williams and Glen Campbell. Each was a successful recording artist and television personality, and each played a vital role in helping establish or keep viable professional golf tournaments in Southern California. The heyday of William Park Bell and his son, William Francis, ended with the passing of the younger Bell in 1984, but not before they designed more than 70 courses in the region. Only Jim Flick, our sixth recipient, is still actively involved in the game. He still finds time to work with some of the game’s top players and gives lessons at La Costa Resort and Spa and TaylorMade’s Carlsbad facility. Beyond the inductees’ individual love affairs with golf, it’s their broader impact on the game in the Southland that makes them worthy members for our seventh Hall of Fame class.
