The money is used to help girls from low- to moderate-income families pursue golf, and the foundation’s grants program awards from $100 to $5,000 to help youth programs and school teams better serve their participants. The foundation also collects and donates equipment to high school and junior golf programs, and the foundation sponsors a regional and state golf championship. The foundation also promotes scholastic excellence by awarding annual grants to the six Southern California girls’ high school golf teams with the highest average GPAs. In addition, the foundation offers scholarships to help young golfers pay for college. “Golf teaches us all lessons we use in our lives,” Meyers said.
