![]() Glenn: How old were you when you started playing golf? Harrison: When I was 5 years old, my dad would take me to the driving range to hit balls. My first lesson was when I was 13 by a pro named Clay Connard. He told me that he was going to teach me to hit it hard, and that’s what we did for the first two years. In those days, my favorite club was my driver. It was fun to hit it a long way. Glenn: When I see you swing, I see great balance. Any tips on balance? Harrison: Yes. The key is to swing within yourself. Most golfers I see overswing on the backswing and that lifts them out of their golf posture. I think: swing the length of swing where your body is comfortable. Glenn: How do you hold up under pressure? Harrison: I think about the shot, not the consequences. Think about the things you can control. Your routine, your balance and good solid contact. Glenn: What advice would you give to help golfers seek out a good teacher? Harrison: Find someone you can communicate with. Then you’ll understand what they are saying and will be more comfortable.
