Get on a roll

It’s a safe bet that a memorable Las Vegas golf experience will be had by all who take a trip to the Strip and play these venues.

Conestoga Golf Club

(877) 489-0777 • conestogagolf.com

Located in Mesquite about an hour north of Las Vegas, Conestoga opened to the public last month.

The layout is artfully interwoven with the character and contours of Mesquite’s spectacular landforms. Undulating through canyons with gentle elevation changes, rock outcroppings and tranquil water elements, the integrity of the land is preserved at every opportunity.

Green fees at the course, which is managed by Troon Golf, start at $140 in-season. Stay-and-play packages are available with The Eureka Hotel and Casino, The Falcon Ridge Hotel and Golf Mesquite.

Walters Golf: (888) 427-6678

Royal Links Golf Club • royallinksgolfclub.com
Desert Pines Golf Club • desertpinesgolfclub.com

Like major hotels in Las Vegas, the Walters Golf trio of courses are themed: Bali Hai is a South Pacific tropical golf paradise on the Strip; Royal Links re-creates famous British Open holes; and Desert Pines creates the experience of playing in the Carolina Sandhills. All courses are within 10 minutes of the Strip and have been renowned as some of the best public tracks in the country.

Through June, Walters Golf is offering a “Tour the World” package where golfers can play all three courses for $449. There also is a two-day golf package — with rounds at Royal Links and Desert Pines —for $299, and stay-and-play packages are available at waltersgolf.com/stayandplay.

Royal Links also is home to the ParMates female caddy program, and Southland Golf readers can receive a $50 savings on ParMate reservations.

Angel Park Golf Club

The Legacy Golf Club
(888) 629-3926 • thelegacygc.com

The three Las Vegas courses managed by OB Sports are among the area’s most acclaimed. Angel Park has two 18-hole courses designed by Arnold Palmer, a lighted short course and a lighted putting course. Since Aliante opened in late 2003, it has been renowned as one of the most eclectic layouts for golfers of all skill levels. The Legacy, which tips out at 7,233 yards, was voted by Golf Digest as one of the “Top 10 Courses You Can Play” in Las Vegas.

Each OB Sports course offers the best rate guaranteed to those who book their tee times online. Currently, golfers can get peak tee times for $99 by booking online between eight and 90 days in advance.

With the double- and triple-play packages, players can enjoy three days of golf (in any combination) and get their rental clubs for free each round. If they play two days, rental clubs are $25 per round. Golfers can save from $20 to $40 per round on green fees when they book the package before April 30.

The Arroyo Golf Club at Red Rock Country Club

Siena Golf Club
(702) 341-9200 • sienagolfclub.com

The Arroyo Golf Club is the only Arnold Palmer Signature design in Las Vegas available for public play, and Siena, a Lee Schmidt/Brian Curley project that’s only 10 miles from the Strip, was honored as the 2009 Nevada Golf Course of the Year by the Golf Course Owners Association.

Recently, both courses have improved playability on specific holes, and with ideal spring weather conditions forthcoming, now is a great time to check out the venues.

Golfers also can book a two-day package to play both courses within a five-day period and save 20 percent on green fees.

Sign up for Southland Golf’s e-mail database to receive more exclusive savings opportunities from these two venues.
