![]() With a variety of natural settings, Malaysia offers golfers an eclectic experience. The World Amateur Inter-Team Golf Championship brings together more than 900 amateurs to play on some of Malaysia's best courses. As part of the tournament, which is now in its 15th year, the four winning teams from each of the six qualifying rounds are invited back to Malaysia to play in the Grand Final in Johor from November 3-5 at Tanjung Puteri Golf Resort. All members of the team will be provided with return air tickets, accommodations, ground transportation and daily breakfast. The tournament is open to amateurs teams of three or four players who possess a valid USGA or club-verified handicap of 18 and lower (men) or 24 and lower (women). Prior to the fifth round of the tournament, visitors and golfers can enjoy a touch of Malaysia’s multiculturalism and appreciation for the arts at the Sarawak Rainforest World Music Festival, which takes place July 10-12 and brings together world musicians and indigenous artists. The festival features workshops, ethno-musical lectures, jam sessions and mini-concerts followed by evening performances on the main stage. Malaysia has an array of golf resorts and courses that golfers will appreciate. The exotic Southeast Asian country features more than 200 courses, with some designed by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Robert Trent Jones. Great care has been put into the design and facilities of the golf courses to provide visitors with a well-rounded, world-class experience. Thanks to Malaysia’s diverse terrain, visitors can golf in style in a variety of locations. Tee off in the clouds at Hornbill Golf and Jungle Club, in Malaysian Borneo, which has courses at 6,000 feet above sea level. Golfers can also play at The Golf Club in Datai Bay, Langkawi, which voted the most scenic in Malaysia. Or, players can see the course in a different light with night golfing in Kuala Lumpur.
