Look on the Light Side

Manufacturers are continuing to amaze us with technical fabrics that keep us dry, comfortable and environmentally conscious.

Izod G

Thanks to a few coconuts, golfers are staying a little drier. Izod G’s latest technology, Carbon, incorporates the activated carbon from coconut shells in its garments. The fabrics manage moisture and odors and offer UV protection. It’s a green approach and it seems to be working. The spring line features Cocona and Zone:fx, the latter a moisture-wicking and antibacterial fabric, and includes the women’s Side Swipe Skort ($65) and Reaction Sleeveless Polo ($60). Stony Golf

New on the greens scene is San Diego-based Stony Golf, offering the Zone mock micro-fiber shirt ($45). The line is inspired by golf’s new school of players, with all pieces a good fit in any course wardrobe. The shirt is 100 percent polyester and features fast-dry, moisture-wicking technology. Available in black, white and navy. Visit stonygolf.com.

Tattoo Golf

Tattoo Golf has taken its hot-selling Stars & Skulls design and made it more functional for the golfer. The Poly-Dri Stars & Skulls shirt ($47.99) is designed to wick away perspiration rapidly, drawing it to the surface where it quickly evaporates. Available in black or white in both the men’s and women’s lines. Also new this summer is the pinstripe FlexFit hat ($24.99). It’s fully fitted and features an elastic stretch band. Available in white, brown or dark gray in three skull designs. Visit tattoogolf.com.
