Men’s or Women’s Driver?

Find clubs that work best for your swing.

Ailment: I’m looking for more distance off the tee. I tried my boyfriend’s driver and picked up about 20 yards, but I wasn’t as accurate with it. I’m pretty strong, athletic and tall. Should I look at playing with a man’s driver or a women’s driver with a longer shaft?
Prescription: If you have a repeating swing with correct movements and are getting solid contact with the ball, you can experiment with swing changes or your equipment to find a combination that allows you the greatest distance while maintaining control.

Try increasing your swing speed by working with training aids that create resistance, such as power swing fans or weighted clubs. This will help you build core strength and balance while increasing clubhead speed.

In addition, I recommend that you test several drivers. Variables in club fitting to maximize a player’s performance include shaft length, shaft flex, kick point, grip size and degrees of loft.
