STROKE OF THE DAY |
"The difference between getting in a sand trap and getting in water is like the difference between an auto wreck and airplane wreck. You can recover from one of them." |

Patient: Male Age: 60 Current Handicap: 11 Lowest handicap: 5 Plays: A few times a month Practices: Never Ailment: I've found that I'm thinking too much over my shots about things that have nothing to do with golf. The next thing I know I've hit a terrible shot and wasted strokes. What can I do to get my focus back on the course? Prescription: This is a common problem in today's fast-paced world, but the golf course should be a diversion from work and multi-tasking. A method I use is to symbolically take my problems and put them into a pocket of my golf bag, along with my watch, wallet, keys and cell phone. The game is challenging enough without the distractions of the outside world. I found that the break from thinking about extraneous problems lets me attack them with a fresh perspective. As a result, I played better and was more effective after the round. |
