Yesterday, Southland Golf and OC METRO magazines hosted the sold-out event under a bright blue sky. Thirty-six teams were matched for a day out of the office to network and compete for their chance to win bragging rights as the winner of the first Corporate Cup.

The “shotgun start” at 1 p.m. quickly moved into an afternoon packed with stiff competition and even a hole-in-one. However, it was golfers from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, a commercial real estate advisory firm with an office in Irvine and throughout the world, who took home the win. That match, played in a better-ball format, was won by two of four, with a score of 123.

The day ended with a patio reception, to name those who had entered to win thousands of dollars worth of raffle prizes, and for the presentation of the inaugural Corporate Cup to the Newmark Grubb Knight Frank employees, who didn’t think they had a chance at winning.
